Role Summary

Software Engineer (Full-Stack). Reports to: Howard Booth, Chief Executive Officer. Location: Remote (United States), with occasional required travel. Employment type: Full-time, Exempt.

Intellevate helps businesses solve real operational problems with automation and AI. The Software Engineer is the person who builds the answer. You work on customer engagements, taking a solution from design through to something running in the customer’s environment, and you own it end to end: front end, back end, the integrations in between, and the fixes after go-live. Most of the work is automation and integration on top of systems the customer already runs, which means a fair amount of it is figuring out how to connect software that was never built to be connected. You are our first dedicated engineer, so you will also help shape how we build.

What You’ll Do

  • Build and deliver the automations, integrations, and applications that customer engagements call for, from working design to a running result.
  • Connect systems that were not built to talk to each other. This includes closed line-of-business software with no public API, where the answer is a well-chosen workaround rather than a clean integration.
  • Build front ends and back ends where an engagement needs an application, not just a workflow.
  • Work inside customers’ live production systems under a phased, reversible testing discipline. Real data, real consequences, and a rollback plan before you start.
  • Build on top of SaaS workflow platforms and AI APIs as a delivery layer over the customer’s existing systems.
  • Explain what you built, and why, to customer stakeholders who are not engineers.
  • Improve Intellevate’s own internal systems and tooling between engagements.

What We’re Looking For

Required

  • Five or more years of professional software development experience, working across both front end and back end.
  • Proficiency in TypeScript or JavaScript, plus one other language you reach for, such as Python or C#.
  • Hands-on work with REST and GraphQL APIs, including OAuth and API-key authentication, webhooks, and the error handling that keeps an integration running unattended.
  • The resourcefulness to get data moving when there is no API to work with. Some of the software our customers depend on most does not offer one.
  • Working knowledge of the Microsoft ecosystem: Microsoft 365 and SharePoint, plus at least one of the Power Platform, the Graph API, or Azure.
  • Source control and a release discipline: Git, branching, code review, and a repeatable way to get a change into production and back out again.
  • Enough security judgment to handle a customer’s real data safely: secrets management, least-privilege access, and knowing when to ask before touching something.
  • Comfort working directly in a customer’s production environment, with the care and the rollback plan that requires.
  • The ability to explain technical work clearly to people who are not technical. You will be in front of customers.
  • Authorization to work in the United States. Intellevate is not able to sponsor employment visas for this role.
  • Willingness and ability to travel occasionally to customer sites and events (an essential function of the role).

Preferred

  • Consulting or other client-facing delivery experience.

Platform and automation

  • monday.com development: its API, automation surface, and apps framework.
  • Power Automate, Power Apps, or comparable low-code automation.
  • UiPath or another RPA platform, particularly for driving software that offers no API.
  • Intelligent document processing, or other AI-based extraction from documents and forms.

AI

  • Building against the Anthropic Claude API or a comparable model API.
  • Agent and orchestration patterns, including the Model Context Protocol.
  • Prompt design and evaluation: being able to tell whether an AI step is reliable enough to ship.

Cloud, data, and domain

  • Azure, including app registrations, Entra ID, and hosting. Cloudflare or comparable modern web hosting.
  • Data modeling and migration between systems that describe the same thing differently.
  • Regulated or security-sensitive delivery (CMMC, NIST 800-171, or similar), or accounting, tax, and professional-services workflows.

We care about what you can do, not where you learned it. A degree is welcome but not required; equivalent hands-on experience counts fully.

The Stack You’ll Work In

The specific technologies vary by engagement, but they are not a surprise. Almost everything we build sits in one of four places. We expect you to be strong in at least two of them and willing to learn the rest.

  • Microsoft. Microsoft 365 and the Graph API, SharePoint, Entra ID app registrations and OAuth, and the Power Platform (Power Automate and Power Apps). Azure for identity and hosted services.
  • SaaS workflow and CRM platforms. monday.com is the one we use most, including its API and its automation surface. HubSpot and comparable platforms come up too.
  • Web application development. TypeScript and Node on the back end, a modern JavaScript front end, and REST and GraphQL APIs in between. Python for data and document work. Our web properties run on Cloudflare.
  • AI and agent development. The Anthropic Claude API, the Model Context Protocol, and orchestration patterns that chain several AI components into one working process.

Location and Travel

This is a remote role based in the United States. The work is done remotely by default. The role does require occasional in-person travel to meet with customers and attend events. We expect this to be infrequent, but it is a real requirement of the job, and we want to be clear about it from the start.

Compensation

$80,000 to $100,000 per year, depending on experience. This is a full-time, exempt, salaried position.
